Location
This image was taken on Loch Ard in the Loch Lomond and the The Trossachs National Park, ScotlandTime
It was taken shortly after sunrise, looking west along the loch...Lighting
The light was soft and the mist hung for some time in the cold morning air...Equipment
This was shot on my Pentax K5 with a sigma 17-70 mm lens, tripod and Lee circular polariser...Inspiration
The bird (cormorant) had been at the jetty (dock) for some time when i returned to this part of the loch and waited until i got close and hung around for about ten minutes whilst I took the shot...Editing
Initially processed in Adobe Camera Raw, for cropping and igniting, photoshop for spot removal and Nik Vivenza for saturation, colour balance...In my camera bag
All of the above plus a selection of lee grad filters, cable release, 10-20 sigma lens, 120-400 sigma lens, spare cards, B+W 110 long exposure screw in filter... spare socks, space blanket and compass.Feedback
The only way to get this shot is to actually be there, i would not have got this shot had I been sat in my kitchen or lying in my bed!!.. get out there!!
