Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in the beautiful mountains of East Tennessee. The model is Rosie, who is beautiful, inside and out!

Time

The photo was taken during "golden hour," when the sun was setting behind the trees.

Lighting

All natural light.

Equipment

I used my Canon 6D with my 85mm lens, probably at f1.8.

Inspiration

Rosie is a model and we were doing a model shoot.

Editing

I use Lightroom for post-processing. Very little was done to this photo-maybe added a little contrast and clarity and slight reduction of highlights.

In my camera bag

In my bag, I always have my Canon 6D, of course! Plus, a 24-105mm lens, an 85mm lens and a "nifty fifty." I do carry a flash occasionally and sometimes use a reflector (albeit rarely).

Feedback

I love creating this type of "bokeh" (definintion-the visual quality of the out-of-focus areas of a photographic image, especially as rendered by a particular lens) by shooting wide open and positioning the model in front of trees or bushes where the sun is shining through.
