Location
This photo was taken at my parents house as part of a photoshoot for my mother's birthday. This particular photo was one of those "lets try something and see if it works" moments. As a self taught photographer I like to try different things and see how they turn out.Time
This phot was taken in the late afternoon near the end of the shoot. It was one of the last photos taken but ended up as my 2nd favourite photo from the entire day.Lighting
I tried to utilize the natural light coming through the large window off to the side. I always try to use natural light as much as possible when dealing with small children as I find the studio flash can cause blinking or even crying.Equipment
I don't remember exactly which camera body I used for this photo but it was either a Sony A330 or a Sony A57 paired with a 50mm portrait lens.Inspiration
I had seen similar images online and decided to attempt a version myself. I was definitely surprised and how well everything came together and it turned out almost as perfectly as I had imagined.Editing
I didn't have to do much post processing on this image. I converted it to black and white as the colour version did not do it justice and adjusted the contrast to make the feet stand out a bit more.In my camera bag
I am always looking for different shots. I usually haul my 3 favourite lenses around with me which are a 50mm 1.2 prime lens, a 80-200mm zoom lens, and an old 100-300mm manual focus lens for more vintage looking photos.Feedback
Always try new things. Sometimes you will surprise yourself.
