Location
On my back porch, from my kitchen.Time
Mid afternoonLighting
No additional lighting, just bright sunlight. Where the birds were at was in full shade so they were not washed out at all.Equipment
Canon T3 and standard kit lens 70mm-300mm zoom.Inspiration
I was inside the kitchen when I saw this baby robin right up against the glass door. I laid down on the floor and started shooting, then the mother showed up with food and I was able to get this shot.Editing
No special post processing, just some brightening and contrast adjustments. In my camera bag
My bag is very simple, my camera, two kit lenses (18mm-55mm standard and 70mm-300mm zoom) as well as a 50mm prime. I also have various extension tubes and screw on lens filters for macro use (+1, +2, & +4).Feedback
Just be ready for anything that happens. For this shot, it was best to stay back a bit as to not scare the birds, so the zoom lens worked well.
