I took this photo in my parents backyard.Time
I took this photo around sunset.Lighting
Golden hour always delivers beautiful lighting!Equipment
I used my Canon T2i with the kit lens.Inspiration
This leaf grabbed my attention as it hung on, day after day to the branch, even as all the leaves around it where letting go. I admired it's tenacity. I was going through my divorce, and that little leaf inspired and encouraged me to hold on.Editing
I didn't do too much to this photo, increased contrast and depth. In my camera bag
My Canon T2i, my Canon 50mm 1.4 , and my kit lens 18-55. I have a lot of opportunity to grow and expand my bag contents. ;)Feedback
The reason this photo works is the composition. The wind-swept leaf seems to blow the bokeh around the rest of the frame. What makes a photo of a leaf interesting? A leaf in motion captures Autumn, and the texture of the leaf with it's jagged edges nicely counter weighs the smooth bokeh background, and the curve of the back of the leaf draws the viewer around the leaf and around the photo. Thanks for the feature!!
