ViewBug community member tadejturk  (Tadej Turk) was born in the oldest Slovenian town called Ptuj. He comes from the family of eager readers and learners. His sister is a teacher in special school, mother works with books, and father is retired. He attended primary school in Kidrievo, known by aluminium factory founded during World War II. He continued secondary school in Ptuj and became an electrician. After school he served in the army as the part of last generation of national service.

He has always been very hardworking; he was a taxi driver, security guard; finally he found a real challenge as CNC programmer. He has been doing that for 10 years. Since programming is really demanding work and requires a lot of concentration, he needed a relaxation of some kind. Luckily his colleague introduced him to photography, which proved to be his much needed relaxation and quickly turned into love.

Tadej’s first camera was single-lens reflex to enable him more possibilities in creating different photographs. His photography is intended to combine narrative and expressive dimension of images, as well as pure artistic dimensions. He finds motives in nature, architecture and urban life, especially human in urban affairs. Slovenia offers countless sources of beautiful and unique motives.

In photography he finds messages which come to life in images of light, where each of them speaks about the moment of its “birth”. His photographs have been chosen for book covers: one is on the cover of Lee Child’s Jack Reacher novel (Obiskovalec/ Visitor), the other was on the YA book Kitara za dva/ Guitar notes. And that is just the beginning of Tadej’s exciting journey through life with camera on his shoulder and eyes wide open. Don’t miss his next creations!

This photo was made with help of digital manipulation. Background was made by Croatian sea called Mali lošinj, and the train was made near place i live (train station). Background was made at sunset time with long exposure shot, and the train was made at full light in a middle of a daytime.

Background was made at perfect hour for long exposure shot and colors was amazing. I use Nikon D7100 with tokina 12-24 F4 lens, tripod manfrotto, and remote control for more sharp shot. My inspiration was idea of lost world and civilization. That is the reason for digital manipulation and showing the story behind it. My pos-processing is always with photoshop CS6 and for this photo a took about 20 hours of blending photo together and a lot of use masks and layers.

I always have body D7100, lenses tokina 12-24 dx pro, sigma 17-70 2,8-4, nikkor 50 1,4G, tripod manfrotto, and remote controller. For that kind of photo idea comes first and then finding perfect photos to mix them and revealing the story.
