Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo on Underwood Ferry Road in Walker County, Alabama, on a trip home to decorate family graves. This photo is above the Mulberry Fork of the Warrior River. There hasn't been ferry service there in almost one hundred years, but the road still carries the name of the family who provided this valuable service to the rural community. This photo faces northeast, with the Southern Company's Miller Electric Generating Plant in the background. .

Time

This photo was taken summer, second week of June, at around 530pm.

Lighting

I enjoy different angles of natural lighting. Time of day and time of year definitely impact outdoor lighting and should always be considered.

Equipment

I'm strictly an amateur, but I love the camera on my Samsung A32 5G.

Inspiration

As a child, I hiked two miles through abandoned surface mines and forest with my dad from our house to my grandparents' house very near here. This "swag" is where we rejoined the blacktop after our hike. I've always thought it was an incredible view.

Editing

I am just learning about photo editing. This was auto-edited for color correction using existing software on my phone.

In my camera bag

Since I use my phone, my equipment is my phone and my imagination.

Feedback

My advice is always look at fore- and backgrounds. Try to have elements in your photo that draw the eye in and to either side, so your viewers truly see the whole photo
