Location
I took this photo at the Rocky Mountain National Wildlife Refuge just north of Denver, Colorado. The refuge free to the public, regularly offers a variety of wildlife photo opts with the Rocky Mountains as a back drop.Time
Morning or Evening light at this location are of course the best light to capture good images. This image was shot in the late afternoon.Lighting
Nothing special to share about the natural light, however, capturing wildlife in great lighting is always my goal.Equipment
I've been a Nikon shooter since 1989. I still have those Nikon film cameras and continued with Nikon digital cameras. This particular image was shot with my Nikon D850 handheld. The Sigma 150-600 mm was the Lens which works well with my D850 and my Z7II.Inspiration
I cam upon this magnificent Raptor who was comfortable enough with my presence to pose for me.Editing
All photos are minimally edited in Photoshop. I have a degree in Digital Graphic Arts, so hopefully I combine photography and Photoshop to create artistic wildlife images. In my camera bag
I keep it simple. I prefer to travel light, so I tend to plan to pack cameras and lenses best needed to successfully come home with the images I want.Feedback
Getting out in Nature as much as time will allow is crucial. Hunt for opportunities. Go out in the mornings and late afternoons. Pay attention to the natural light, You never know when wildlife will present itself, so be ready.
