Location
Hi, I took this photo in my garden in the UK during lockdown,as we could not go out I tried different ways to capture my photosTime
This was taken approximately late afternoon, the sun was out but clouded over so wasn't in direct sunlight.Lighting
I wanted this image to draw the viewers eyes on the way the insect was resting but working at the same time,Equipment
This was actually taken using my Samsung galaxy s21 ultra, I used the macro lens to get as close as possible and using the natural lighting as my advantage.Inspiration
I've seen many photos on Instagram of bees and wasps but I've never seen such a contrast between the purple coloured flowers and the golden yellow of the bee, I thought it just looked Fantastic.Editing
I did the usual lightroom fixes and just slightly changed the saturation, highlights and shadows to make the bee pop.In my camera bag
Normally I have my canon 550d camera, a 50mm prime, 18-135mm, a 85mm prime, and a telephoto lens, I've got a polarised filter, and a ND filter, a external flash, tripod, lens hoods, and a spare battery and sd card.Feedback
Be patient, you never know when something will just happen, don't be disappointed if you don't get the image you want to start with, photography is all about trial and error, enjoy it
