While I was photographing a yellow primrose flower this snake came crawling in and out of the boardwalks side rails. This snake was about two foot long and apparently very strong. Here in Florida it is commonly called a rat snake and is one of many non-venomous snakes that reside throughout the state. This nature photograph is where it is exiting the boardwalk rail to climb back into the trees in the swamp. These constrictor type snakes are normally not aggressive, but may bite if you corner them or miss-handle them.
