Location
This photo was taken in two locations. The foliage is Acadia National Park in Maine, the canyons are those of the Badlands National Park in South Dakota.Time
While the photo of Acadia was taken on a foggy afternoon, the image on the Badlands was taken at sunrise.Lighting
Because the original lighting in the two landscapes was very contrasting, a lot of editing was done for the photographs to compliment and blend with each other.Equipment
The Badlands photo was taken using the panorama feature on an iPhone 5s, the photo of Acadia was taken using a Nikon D3500. No flash was used for either.Inspiration
I enjoy landscape photography and digital manipulation. Trying to find an aesthetic way to incorporate two very opposing National Parks was a fun challenge.Editing
In editing, I made both images black and white and worked with each of the black-points to achieve similar contrast. I layered the two and feathered the seam.In my camera bag
I typically carry my iPhone 11 everywhere I go. While this image was partially taken with a Coolpix, having an iPhone on hand allows me to take pictures whenever and wherever I want.Feedback
Don't stop taking pictures. Find things that interest you and try different exposures/angles/shutter speeds until you find what works for you!
