I took this photo myself, in my bedroom in Palm Springs, California.Time
It was taken at my favorite time of day, which actually isn't daytime at all, but twilight time as I am and have always been a nightowl!Lighting
I wanted to capture my FEELING, my MOOD, much more than just how I looked, physically, so I did take the photo with very dim lighting.Equipment
This was a photo I took, using my IPhone 7 Plus.Inspiration
I had just had a very hard day. I had been arguing with someone all day long. The argument became pretty abusive, verbally, from the other person's end. I felt beat down, exhausted, emotionally drained and wanted to see what that looked like and keep a reminder of it, to myself, that I'd never allow that feeling again.Editing
I did! I changed the original to black and white. I felt it demonstrated my feelings more intensely that way.In my camera bag
As I am a novice at this amazing world of photography, I just recently acquired a used Canon 35 mm., many different lenses, plenty of film, color and black white, and I am still learning about all of them and how to make the most out of every item. The camera and equipment were all a gift to me. I specifically requested an older, used camera, because I felt it would be better to have my first REAL camera(besides my phone)have a history that could maybe help guide me on my photography journey.Feedback
Think very hard about what it is you want to capture. Don't be afraid to make a powerful statement. Take risks. Sometimes, the best and most important pictures are the ones that are not that pretty.
