Location
The photo was taken on a preschool graduation party.Time
The Bubbles were one of the highlights of the graduation party. It was about noon and a lot of kids were running with there bubbling gifts around after getting some cake.Lighting
The sun was bursting down, so I tried to take a picture in the shadows, but with all the moving kids this was harder than expected.Equipment
I used my Sony Alpha 6400 with the Zeiss Batis 25mm. No further equipment.Inspiration
I really wanted to portrait children, but not in a staged way. I wanted to take a very natural photo because Kids have the ability to 'marvel' about almost everything and their eyes reflect this. That's a trait we adults lost.Editing
I corrected the lightning a bit an put a monochrome filter over it. I really like the look of the black an white in contrast with the joy of the little girl.In my camera bag
Normally I carry my Alpha 6400 body with me. My favorite lenses are the Sony 50mm 1.8, Sony 85mm 1.8, Sigma 16mm 1.4 and the Batis 25mm 2.0. The last one is really gorgeous. I also carry a tripod, a bouncer and in some cases my Jinbei HD600v with me.Feedback
I think it's kind of easy to point and shoot kids if you are patient. Make sure to get the permission of the parents first. I was just wandering around an tried to look for something interesting. If you see something I would recommend to get as close as possible. In this way, the pictures look much more natural and you look less like a creep. So I would recommend using a lens with a small focal length.
