The photo was taken during my trip to Las Vegas. This Egyptian monument is part of the Luxor Hotel. I am a self taught photography so I experiment with every photo I take. This was my favorite shot out of the many that I took of this sphinx.Time
This was during the middle of the day. The sun was high up and behind the sphinx in this image. It was extremely hot, higher than 100 degrees Fahrenheit.Lighting
I chose a low angle for this image so that it looks powerful and magnificent.Equipment
I did not have my Canon Rebel T7i yet, so I used my iPhone 8 to take this image.Inspiration
There were so many great sights to see in Las Vegas and I wanted to take a picture of all of them. This is only one of many images that I took but I thought this Egyptian monument was beautiful and it had to be captured.Editing
I did a bit of editing on this image. Mostly fixing the exposure and contrast. I also added a slight black vignette to make the monument look more magnificent. In my camera bag
I usually carry around my Canon Rebel T7i with an 18-55mm lens. I also have a pack of filters that I like to use sometimes, such as a UV filter and CPI filter.Feedback
If you want to go to Las Vegas to walk around and see the sights and take some amazing photographs, be sure to go at a time when it is not too hot. I was there in August and I was exhausted from the massive heat.
