Location
The photo was taken in an area in Arizona, USA.Time
Had to get up early for this shot. It was taken about 7:45am local time. The mornings are a little cooler and allow a lot more comfort for everyone. This allows you more time to work with your clients as well.Lighting
Lighting was all natural. In Arizona, the sun just hangs at sunrise and seems to move slower giving you more time to create some magic. I found this also to be true in the evening hours as well. I was instantly hooked.Equipment
This was taken with a Canon 5DMIV, and a Tamron 70-200 F2.8l G2 lense, Handheld and natural light.Inspiration
Wanted to get an angle that worked well with the light hitting the faces.Editing
In Adobe Light Room, I applied a custom B&W preset I built for my outdoor portraits. It is a little soft, and not too harsh. In my camera bag
These days my first choice is the Sony A7iii with the MC-11 Adaptor, can Canon 24-70 II lens, Next to it is my 5DMIV with the Tamron 70-200mm f2.8, then I have the Canon 50mm L1.2 on standby with a Canon 100-400 IS II on hand for lang range and to fill some frames.Feedback
Work with the light, and where the light is falling. Try to get subjects just in front of it, where it just lights the faces. Backlit can also be great, I adjust to a spot meter for when doing shots like this and put the spot on the skin.
