The Florida Tropical House located on the south shore of Lake Michigan in the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. Part of Chicago's 1933 A Century of Progress Homes of Tomorrow exhibit, the five homes were taken by barge to their present location in Beverly Shores, Indiana to promote real estate development. Recently renovated at a cost of $450K, It is owned by the National Parks Department and leased for 30 years to the private party who performed and paid for the renovation.
