This photo was taken in my home in a small studio set up. I took this image for a class while working on my associates in digital science PhotographyTime
This image was taken during the evening. I was looking to get more artificial lighting than natural lighting. So I waited till the sun was setting, but not fully dark out yetLighting
Lighting is an expert set up. It takes a lot of work and dedication to get the right set up and the right balance when doing lighting. There is a difference between studio lighting and Natural lighting. Getting the perfect set up will make or break an imageEquipment
I used a Cannon Rebel t3i 22 lense. I used 3 350 watt light set up. A light box on the right and reflectors on the front and the left. No flash. My camera was set on manualInspiration
I was debating on how I was going to incorporate still life ( fruits and veggies) and add a figure into it. As I sat there thinking, my daughter asked of she could eat the broccoli I just finished photographing. As she was eating it, inspiration hit!Editing
I adjusted some of the highlights in the image and set it to black and white. It was originally a color image. But felt it would stand out as a black and white imageIn my camera bag
I usually have my camera, 2 lenses going up too 100 m. An external flash, a light meter, extra batteries and extra memory card in my bag. I know many others have more than that, but I like to keep my images simpleFeedback
Practice. Keep practicing with the lighting and set up before taking the image your looking for. Getting the right light will make it break an image. You want the right light. The lighting set up isn't for everyone and just make sure you have it right by photographing plain objects first. It will get hot in all those lights, it will feel tedious. But if you keep at it, you can accomplish anything
