Behind The Lens

Location

This photograph was taken in Poland - Summer 2017. My parents have got an amazingly magical garden and while I was visiting them this year I was inspired to create the series about Polish country side.

Time

This image was created in the afternoon around 5pm. The weather was incredible and the light was the best I have ever had. It was just after the storm.

Lighting

The lighting is all natural, there was no flash and no reflector used.

Equipment

I have used my Nikon D810 and 85mm sigma 1.4.

Inspiration

I have been living in UK for over 13 years, visiting Poland once a year - if we had a chance. My parents live in the incredible place, at the very end of a small village North-West Poland. At the back of their house they have got two lakes, forest, very old trees.. pure nature. There is nothing except the calmness. You can hear nature speaking to you. I had this idea in the back of my head to show the raw nature of this place. My model Julia was just incredible to fit within this atmosphere. The bath is the real bath that my parents have got. The flowers are also from their garden. It was all there.. pure natural...

Editing

I have smoothed the face using frequency separation and converted to b&w in Lightroom.
