This photo I took a couple weeks back next to Paratahi Island Karekare New Zealand, with the back wash of the island hitting the incoming waves. The ocean and water is such a beautiful medium - stormy or still - in what ever form. It can destroy and then bring so much life, it's my calm place. I’ve seen photos similar and this image has been in my head for some time. I just wasn’t in the right place at the right time, until that day. This photo has movement, power and form that only nature can show. It has an organic feeling of here now and gone the next but is frozen in time.

This photo was taking @ my local beach Karekare on the west coast of Auckland city new Zealand. Karekare is probably most famous for being in the film "The Piano" & was voted one of the of the top 10 beach in the world 2016/17. Its black sand, wild beauty that is forever changing sucks you in & takes hold of your soul...Thats why i've been here for 16yrs. With a multitude of nature, bush walks, surf & waterfall close by Karekare has my heart??.Time
I think the photo was taking mid day ish from memory.Lighting
mmmm would nice to get this again with the sunsetting behind... with the planning of tides, swell, the right tide & sunset. We could probably make it happen.Equipment

I've had this picture floating around in my head for sometime... I am a scorpio & love the ocean as i surf & could spend 5 or more hours in there easily. There are whole load of amazing water photographers out there some of which I flow on instagram. So I guess those people inspired me & my love of the ocean. I wanted to capture something other then the perfect barrel wave which us surfers froth on hard, & happed to be in the right place @ the right time. Mother Nature aye love her.Editing
