This photo was shot at Mullet Bay also known as Cozy Nook on the south coast of the south island of New Zealand, I am a hobbyist photographer on a budget and partially like shooting nature.Time
This was shot around mid afternoon during a southerly storm, i had to brace against gale force wind's and battle low temperatures to get this shot.Lighting
The storm front gave a ominous feel to the light conditions and the wild sea conditions made for an atmospheric afternoon.Equipment
This was shot on my trusty old Nikon D3200 handheld with a Nikkor 35 f1.8 G lens my favourite go to lens.Inspiration
Mullet Bay is one of my favourite costal spots i was in a small cabin there with friends when the front came in and couldn't resist getting a few shots.Editing
I shot this raw and did a tidy up in lightroom i prefer not to get too heavy handed in post preferring to try to represent the day as it was.In my camera bag
I normally carry my D3200 and more lately a D7200 as well as a couple of flashes a 35mm f 1.8 G, 50mm f1.8 and a Sigma 17-50mm f2.8.Feedback
I love the wild south coast of New Zealand it presents numerous photograpic opertunitys, our wild weather gives us multi seasons in a single day, being open to changeable conditions and quick on your feet is vital to success in environments like this.
