Location
The mountain you see is the Cima Pisciadu near Corvara in Badia Italy. The shot was taken from the Rifuge Pisciadu.Time
If i remember correctly it was around 22:00Lighting
Only light source came from the hut i was staying at (Rifuge Pisciadu)Equipment
My set up was a Sony a7r with Samyang 14mm f2.8 on a tripod. I created this image by making two exosures, 1st one was 10min at 100 ISO to get the mountain sharp and the 2nd was 30secounds at 1600 ISO to get the stars as decent points and not too blurryInspiration
The moon was not visible and the circumstances were just right to try a milkyway shot. The mountain in the foreground was the cherry on top.Editing

On my hikes in the mountains i now take my Sony a7r with a 55mm and 21mm lens. For freelance work i do i usually have my Canon 5D mark IV and Canon 7D with various lenses from wide to zoomsFeedback
To get a shot like this takes some planning and a lot of luck. Plan for location, moon phases, gear. Luck comes down to the weather.
