On the western edge of the Sierra Nevadas and Kings Canyon National Park is arguably one of the deepest canyons in all of North America. From the top of Spanish Peak, at 10,051 feet, down to the confluence flow of the South and Middle Fork Kings Rivers, there is a depth change of 8,200 feet. These massive valleys are the results of millions of years of glacial carves and meltwater rivers.
