Behind The Lens
Location
Taken in my home studio using mostly natural light from the large windows behind me.Time
Its was mid - Sunday afternoon a bright day but with thin cloud giving a great light box effect to the lightingLighting
I used one light box at my left shoulder just to fill in some darker shadow areasEquipment
taken with a canon 70D with 50mm 1.4 prime lens light box to my left shoulder, shot was hand heldInspiration
Abi, has a great figure as she is a bit of a gym bunny so I suggested we do a retro/70s style bum shot with props, old camera and my watch but which would also suggest she was topless in shot (she wasn't). Interesting to note that her hair is not this long I got her to lean her head back out of shot so it would look that way.Editing
Post involves a black and white conversion from the original colour shot, darkening of the negative space either side of Abi's body some very small adjustments with the liquid-fy tool to slim her bare hips above the waist bandIn my camera bag

plan in advance, have lots of props to change looks be aware of where arm shadows etc will fall and adjust model position and your position. Once you think its in the bag as you snap away, snap again, take a few more and adjust your taking point slightly each time. Models time and yours cost so while the set up is right and you feel you've got the shot, its takes seconds to take another 10 and or with a tweak to your camera settings too.
