Location
This photo was taken right in front of my Minnesota home. I was enjoying one of the last few days of summer with my brother and pup (Madi).Time
This was taken in the afternoon. The overcast gave off a perfect, soft lighting. It wasn't our first time pushing our pup around on a longboard that summer.Lighting
Overcast days are my absolute favorite. I am never a fan of the sun's harsh rays, so I am always elated on days where the clouds diffuse the light.Equipment
This was shot with a Sony A33 and a 50 mm f/1.4 lens. No other equipment was involved.Inspiration
It was honestly just one of those days where all was right with the world. This was taken only a few days before I headed off for my senior year of college, and my brother headed off for his freshman year of college. We knew our dog would miss us both once we were gone, so we wanted to goof around and giver her extra attention while we had the chance.Editing
Since the lighting was so perfect that day, there was not too much post-processing involved. I only really touched up the exposure and vibrancy a bit.In my camera bag
There is never really any consistency to what equipment I have on me. For the most part, I usually have my Sony A33 with a 50 mm f/1.4 lens. However, it wouldn't be totally shocking if someone were to catch me with my GoPro HERO3, my Nikon D7000 with a 50 mm f/1.4 lens, or my Polaroid 300. I often have a tripod and remote as well depending on the shot I am aiming for.Feedback
The main reason that this shot turned out the way that it did was because of the perfect overcast and large aperture. I love working with natural, diffused light, so this was a perfect day. It also involved a lot of patience with a hyper puppy and a brother who was super willing to help out.
