Location
This photo was taken at a friends field, outside of Madelia, MN.Time
This photo was taken right before sunset in the fall.Lighting
I was going for their silhouette in an American flag, so we waited for the sun to go down far enough, set them up and bam! :)Equipment
I used a Canon 5D Mark III, and 24-70mm 2.8 lensInspiration
This photo was inspired by my friend Maria in the photo. She and I were deployed together 2011-2012, we wanted to involve the flag into some photos, and this seemed to fit just right! We did move around a bit and try different positions, but this was for sure the best turn out.Editing
I did a small amount of post-processing in Lightroom. I try to keep my photos as natural as I can, but I try to bring out the colors and special qualities of each photo. In my camera bag
I always have both my Canon 5D Mark III's, along with my 24-70mm 2.8 lens as well as my 70-200mm 2.8 lens. I usually have my speed lights in there as well in case I need a flash.Feedback
Find a nice open field, wait for the sun to get to the perfect level and set the couple up!
