This photo was taken at Redwood Forest in East warburton - Yarra Valley, Melbourne, Australia. As the name of the forest suggests, it is a forest of towering Californian Redwood Trees. Following the clearing of the original eucalypt forest, the redwood trees were then planted in 1930-1960s for research purposes. The forest has now been listed as a Heritage site.Time
This was taken at mid afternoon on a cloudy winter's day. There wasn't any sunshine at all and the sky was fairly grey so it was a bit dark inside the forest.Lighting
The lighting was very dark as it was a overcasted day. Usually I don't like to increase IS0 but I had to this time, to compensate for the dark light.Equipment
This photo was taken using my lifelong travel partner, the Canon EOS60D using the 18mm -55mm standard kit lens.Inspiration
Cliche as it sounds , I've always wanted to shoot a forest scene with a rainbow umbrella in it. It's nothing out of the ordinary but I wanted to tick it off my photographer's bucketlist. In fact, I want to shoot a Rainbow Umbrella series at various locations such as the at the Golden Poplar trees in Marysville, at the Cherry Blossoms in Warrandyte and the Canola Fields at Point Wilson.Editing
I use Adobe Photoshop. I tend to do the basics : lighting adjustments and bump up the vibrance. In my camera bag
What I need in my bag are : the Camara + lens to capture the things I see, the car key to take me to different places and I go everywhere carrying more than enough water haha.Feedback
I think the beauty of this photo is having such enchanting tall redwood trees planted equal distances apart. The landscape definitely added magic to the photo.
