Location
Yoctangee Park, Chillicothe, Ohio I love walking, eating lunch, and the atmosphere of the park. I visit it every chance I get when travelling to Chillicothe. It's a small slice of paradise it a big town.Time
It was around late morning to early afternoon. I had either just finished or was waiting for a customer appointment to begin.Lighting
All natural lighting. No flash, no reflectors.Equipment
Canon T2I with a kit lens. Couldn't get a good angle with a tripod. I was standing near the middle of a hill looking down.Inspiration
I have been trying for 3 years to get pictures of the swans and chicks. It's very hard since I am not always in the area during the right time of year. I followed the swans around the lake for about 15 minutes trying to find the babies and nests. I found out from a park ranger that there were 3 pair of swans and that the swans had 3 to 6 chicks each set. By the time I had gotten there this year, there were 2 sets of swans and only 5 chicks left. These birds are so beautiful and majestic. People tend to take them for granted.Editing
I try not to edit as much as possible. I added a little exposure, and changed the saturation a few clicks. In my camera bag
My Canon T2i, Canon kit lens, Tamron kit lens, a few filters.Feedback
Lots of patience, good shoes you won't worry about getting dirty. I had to climb a wall, a few hills, and walk through lots of bird poop. Also keep an eye on the parent birds. They get protective and will defend their nesting area. Watch out for other birds who may be expecting to get fed. I had geese practically attack me for food and my pockets were empty.
