Location
This photo was taken at Mill Creek at my California location. I began taking shots at a very young age. As time flew on, I enrolled in college for an AS and and photography was under that umbrella of classes. It was a challenged time but I loved every minute of it.Time
I believe this was during the day for the students attending events for that evening. Mill Creek has some spectacular areas to shoot beautiful images.Lighting
While this particular park does have fabulous shade trees there are areas in which the light shines through without the affect of a brighter sunlight.Equipment
This shot was with a Nikon 3200 with a 18-55 lens. No other equipment was used during this time. With the perfect lighting I didn't need to use a flash.Inspiration
As I mentioned before, this particular park in my area is highly trafficked with dressed up students attending events on that very evening. Many photographers shoot here whether it would be a wedding, prom, or school dance. When I first found this spot, I was in my second year class. This actual park became a favorite for all shots, like animals, water, landscapes, portraits or just shooting the many different flowers.Editing
As a first year student, I did have many different types of shots for our critiques. This park was especially particianed with all sorts of shots. In order to produce "the" perfect shot for that critique; different angles, lighting, or depth of field must be processed carefully. It did however take several shots and edits to produce the shot for class. In my camera bag
Nikon bodies with several different lens, 2 or three batteries, a tripod and or film if shooting black and white. Covers if it just happens to rain and a variety of filters to offset the image.Feedback
Be prepared for the diversity of colors, lighting, populated people, weather or situations. I, myself do not always come back with the intended shot. If for some reason the location has instantly changed there is always another different shot to take.
