Location
I took this photo in the Columbia River Gorge. It was taken in the parking lot of a beatiful hike that lead up into the forest and over a beautiful stream.Time
This photo was taken during a rainy mid morning.Lighting
Rainy weather can be tricky to shoot action photography. With low light, shooting can be difficult, but, using a high ISO and shooting with a steady hand can give you a sharp image.Equipment
Canon 1DMKIV Canon 400mm, 1.4x TelextenderInspiration
I love Osprey. I love the way they've adapted to carry fish to increase aerodynamic. After watching a number of hatchlings grow up and interact with their parents, I fell in love with the Osprey.Editing
I just did a small crop, small saturation increase, gentle increase in exposure and noise reduction. In my camera bag
I have two different camera bodies, a primary and a backup. I have three lenses, one telephoto and two wide angles. I have a flash, cables, extra batteries, camera cards and other necessities to help me have a successful photoshoot.Feedback
Be ready for anything at anytime. This photo was taken in roughly three-four seconds of action and didn't happen again. If I didn't have my head on a swivel and my eyes open, I would have just watched the Osprey fly by, but instead, I had my camera up and was ready to shoot. My advice - always be ready to shoot!
