Lighting

I used the bounced light from the street to illuminate his face.

Equipment

Nikon D3s No tripod..hand held with 70-200 mm no flash..bounced natural light

Inspiration

This man was a "real" cowboy...his colors were all purple..which I did not expect a cowboy to wear..anyway I loved his grisled features and skin...and asked him if I could take his image. He had a dog too that was stuck to him like velcro...you could see they had many years of life together....

Editing

Just converted it to a nice contrast black and white.

In my camera bag

Depends on what I am doing...I was traveling light...just had my camera...and a couple of lenses....don't need much more than that anyways.

Feedback

Just look for the surrounding life and then find the light source that best sets it off.....lots of "micro environments" to take images in without a whole lot of extra camera/lighting gear.
