Behind The Lens
Location
This is the entrance of the Platamona's Castle near Platamonas city (North-Central Greece).Time
It was a little before noon. My friend and I wanted to take a walk and visit the city's sights before we had lunch. This photo was taken on September 1st, 2015 at about 12:00 PM.Lighting
The light is all natural, I didn't use any special equipment.Equipment
This was shot on a Canon 1100D, with a 18-55 EF-S (kit) lens.Inspiration
The moment I saw the gate I knew I had to take a picture of it. Something strange happens when I look at old buildings or ruins, I do my best to imagine how life must have been back then.Editing
I used photoshop to turn it to black and white (photo was shot in color) and make the details more distinguished. In my camera bag
Besides my camera (Canon 1100D) and the standard kit lens, I usually carry a second lens (Helios 44M Lens) a tripod and a remote switch.Feedback
I am not a professional photographer so 99% of time I take a "good" photo is luck. My advice is just take photos of anything that intrigues you and feels like it has to be photographed.
