Penmon or Trwyn Du (Black Point) Lighthouse is on the SE coast of Anglesey Island (Ynys Mon), North Wales. It stands between Dinnor Point and Ynys Seriol (Puffin Island), marking the passage between the two islands and the northern entrance to the Menai Strait. It was constructed between 1835 and 1838 and originally had two keepers but has been unmanned since 1922. It has a 15000cp light which can be seen for 12 nautical miles and in 1996 it was converted to solar power.
