Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in the city of Mayaguez in the beautiful island of Puerto Rico.

Time

This is a indoor photo, and was taken around 2:00pm.

Lighting

The moment was perfect, the chapel light came trough a window, the soft light illuminated the beautiful couple and the background. No need for flashes i wanted it to be as natural as it could, wanted it to be pure.

Equipment

The lens for this photo was a L-Series 24-70mm 2.8 in order to achive the shallow depth of Field.

Inspiration

Love. While i was taking this photo, you could see the love between this two. She could feel the love in the words of her soon-to-be husband, and as he says his vows, beauty happend. Her eyes couldn't contain her tear of love, but he was there to remind her with the soft touch of his hands, he will always be ther for her.

Editing

Yes. I did some light Dodge and Burning, and desaturation to achieve a more romantical image, eliminating any distracting color from the background.

Canon 6D, 24-70mm-f2.8, 24-105-f4, 50mm f1.4, 70-300mm, 50mm Macro -f2.2

Feedback

To capture moments is one part of the beauty of photography. When taking pictures of special moments like this try to eliminate any distractions in the background, this can be achieved by using small f values, this way you concentrate the focus on what is really important. Be always aware of whats going on and try to anticipate the moment. Don't be afraid of taking lots of pictures, cause sometimes you don't know when the smiles, tears, moments will happend. Remember to Move, the perfect picture requieres the photographer to look for it, get your light right, lighting the moment correctly can always make the difference. And last but not least, post-process according to your moment, B&W are good for this kind of picture because it eliminates any color distractions, especially in the background, making composition the real King.
