Location
I took the photo in the Sheraton Hotel on Main Street in Columbia Sout Carolina. I chose this location because great view and the amount of molding and hardwoods they used in the rooms.Time
This was shot in October at approximately 4:45 in the afternoon.Lighting
I only used 1 sb900 speed light with a shoot through umbrella to add a little light to the room. We waited patiently to get the sun right before shooting this.Equipment
I was shooting a Nikon D600 with a Nikon 50g lens. The flash was a Nikon SB 900 with a 36in shoot through umbrella.Inspiration
I love shadows in black and white. My model felt the same way, so we wanted a shot more powerful than just her fantastic figure looking out of the window. When we saw the light changing we waited until it got perfect. It was becoming obvious the result would be great!Editing
I did do a bit in post. I added a slight bit of warmth, contract and clarity. I also increased the highlights in her hair a bit!In my camera bag
My bag is a bit diverse because so is my photography. I usually carry my Nikon D600, Nikon 70-200 VR2, Tamron 28-70 2.8, Nikon 50G, Tamron 150-600, Tamron 2x teleconverter, wireless triggers and 2 Nikon SB 900 FlashesFeedback
Be patient and wait. Also find a model that enjoys shooting as much a you do!
