Love this composition! Great pose, shows off her beautiful face and hair with a nice balance of silver shorts and black top! Great lighting. Very nicely done!

Location
This photo was taken at an amazing photography conference in St. Louis called Shutterfest. This particular shoot was taken out of the back of the Hotel where there are several non-working trains and train cars.Time
I remember this image; it was the last day of the conference and a fellow 'fester' I had met there grabbed us and said "Come on I have this wonderful model and we need to shoot her now because she is booked the rest of the conference. This is our last chance!". This was late afternoon and the sun was a few hours from setting. I would say around 3pm.Lighting
Being mid afternoon you would think there would be plenty of lighting as the golden hour was quickly approaching, but no such luck in this location. This was taken at St. Louis Station and out back there are many empty train cars. It is also under this enormous glass ceiling with lots of metal and other obstructions that throw shadows and otherwise could block your light. The other issue wasEquipment
This was shot with a Fujifilm X-Pro 1 56mm 1.2 LensInspiration
Well, as I said this was an unexpected last minute shoot. The old train station is beautiful and we couldn't resist asking the model to get on the train for a few shots. Sometimes there is just a perfect storm and for this photo that is exactly how it all happened.Editing
I remember on the way home (we had a long 15 hour drive) I was able to take some of the photos and do some post processing in LR. Minor LR post processing on this one. This was the first photo I worked on, and I think by far one of my favorite. In my camera bag
These days there is a variety in my bag. I use exclusively Fujifilm products so XT-1, XPRO-1, XPRO-2 and these days I am playing with old school film; and so I carry a Pentax K1000 as well. For glass, I am a sucker for the 35mm 1.4. I love the Fuji products and the fact that the XT and XPRO2 and weather resistant along with several of the lenses helps too!Feedback
Take your time. Even though we were on a time crunch I feel that taking your time and setting things up for just the right photo is always better than the old spray and pray technique. A great model, makeup and hair is essential. I wish I had more specifics for you, but in this situation there was not a whole lot of prep time. Good luck out there! Keep shooting and stay amazing!
