I really don't remember the exact time and date of the photograph but I know It was taken in late August, early September. I was walking around looking for decrepit thing sin my sisters farm house and I stumbled upon this.Lighting
I didn't use a flash because there was a soft light that cam through a window on the right wall. It was soft and pretty perfect. It really gave definition to the peeling wall paper.Equipment
Canon 5D Mark III; 24-105mm; No FlashInspiration
So for school I had to come up with a concept and story for my final portfolio. The idea was portals into other worlds like an Alice in Wonderland-esc feel. I wanted viewers to see another place through a door, a window, a mirror, etc, and let their imaginations build this new world from the little bit shown.Editing
There was a lot of editing that went into this. It took many layers of contrast, saturation, levels, and tinting adjustments to create this look. Putting the tree into the mirror was another feat of itself. I wanted it to show where the tree is in the field, but keep the real reflection of the mirror as well. Long story short it was days of blending blending blending. In my camera bag
Because I am a poor college grad I don't have much equipment haha In my bag I have the Canon 5D Mark III, 24-105mm lens, 75-300mm lens, EXRT 600 Canon flash, and accessories such as a flash cord, pocket wizards, diffusers, extra batteries (always extra batteries) and a couple other odds and ends.Feedback
Pay close attention to what you're looking at. Details are everything. Picture what you want to photograph to look like, edits and all, before you take it and work towards it.
