Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in the streets of Zurich - Switzerland in March 2015. Im surprised that a lot of people like this photo as it is one of my earliest ones i took.

Time

I would say the photo was taken between 12:00 and 15:00 pm.

Lighting

Lighting is always important when composing a photo. It was a few hours after it had stopped raining and i liked the fact the light was reflecting on the streets.

Equipment

Like i said this was one of my earliest shot i took, it was in the beginning where i had just started taking an interest in photography and at that moment i simply only had an iPad to work with. After i fell in love with photography it was a couple of years later i finally bought my first camera.

Inspiration

During the time i took the photo i was not yet living in Zurich, i was merely visiting a friend who lived there. We were having a walk around the neighborhood and since it was maybe my second time in the city i was amazed by the architecture of the buildings and decided to snap a photo. I love classical architecture or antiques more than modern.

Editing

I did use post-processing on the photo and i would love to tell you more about it but since i was only using an iPad at the time i processed the photo on photo applications which i honestly don't remember exactly which ones because i was using quite few of them

In my camera bag

At that time i had only an iPad, now my bag contains: - Nikon D3300 - AF-S NIKKOR 16-35mm f/4G ED VR lens - Sigma 18-250mm f/3.5-6.3 DC Macro OS HSM lens - Manfrotto BeFree Compact Travel Aluminum Alloy Tripod with a Manfrotto MH804-3W head - Hoya PRO ND 1000 filter

Feedback

Switzerland is full of opportunities of taking photos, from mountains, to rivers, to architecture, to cities and a lot more! I will give an advice to can use with i would say almost anything you're trying to photograph. - Location, location, location, its very important, always walk around the area or the subject you want to photograph because you never know what you'll discover. - Lighting is also very important, from blue hour, to golden hour and more. - Composition, leading lines if you have any, rule of thirds, your subject etc. - Play around with your camera settings. - Patience, you're going to mess up a lot of times before you do it right. I still do mess up, a lot.
