Behind The Lens
Location
This was taken at Shirley's Bay in Ottawa, Ontario CanadaTime
My husband and I headed out on a Sunday afternoon after a snowfall. The sun was shining and it was around 4pm when the deer come out for dinner.Lighting
The lighting was natural late afternoon sunlight.Equipment
My Nikon D3200 and a Nikon 55-300mm lens. No tripod.Inspiration
We visit this spot often, and love the diversity of the bird population as well as other animals. It is a kind of an out of the way spot so not a lot of people other than other photographers. A favourite spot of out.Editing
Post processing including cropping and a small amount of color saturation. In my camera bag
I normally am only found with my D3200 and the 55-300mm lens as it is my go to lens.Feedback
Patience, mostly patience. The deer are shy so standing still for longer periods of time is required and with this lens, fortunately you don't have to get too close to get a great picture. One of the reasons I love it.
