Behind The Lens

Location

This Photo was taken @ Wonderland Studios in Anaheim CA. It’s a great studio rental with lights and props.

Time

This was taken mid day but since it’s a studio shot the time is irrelevant.

Lighting

I used a method that I learned by watch Photographer Joel Grimes, that is an ultra soft three point lighting setup. One light directly over the camera and in front of the model, and one light on either side of the model creating an influx of soft light!

Equipment

Three alienbee 800’s with two 2x4 strip boxes, and one large octobox. Photos were taken on a Canon 6D camera with a Canon 24-105 L lens. Shot on a MeFoto tripod.

Inspiration

I was inspired by some photos of the amazing Joel Grimes.

Editing

Minor retouching in lightroom and Photoshop.

In my camera bag

I’m now a Sony shooter, so my equipment has completely changed since then. I primarily shoot with a Sony A7II or Sony A7III and my go to lens is the Batis 85mm 1.8 by Carl Zeiss.
