This photo was taken in the wonderful Sheffield Park in East Sussex, UK.Time
The park is beautiful all the year round but come the Autumn it really bursts with colour. This image was taken in late October at around 2 in the afternoon.Lighting
At this time of day the reflection is so vivid and positioning across the lake with the overhanging branches I just needed a compliant duck to swim by!Equipment
The picture was captured with a Fujifilm S5700 which goes to show that 'those moments' can be caught using good but simple equipment.Inspiration
Here in the UK there is a gradual move between the seasons and it is wonderful to see the slow colour change of the trees before winter overtakes them. It just cries out to be captured!Editing
The image is basically 'as taken' with no more post-processing other than highlights and contrast adjustment. In my camera bag
I am now mostly using another Fuji camera - the HS50EXR. I would normally have a few filters, mini tripod and plenty of spare battery power with me.Feedback
I feel it is so important to get a 'feel' for the right conditions to get the best from your pictures - the best light, positioning etc. A little time spent considering the image you really want before you press that button - moving the camera and/or yourself to the best position. Also with pictures like this it is helpful to have something in the foregound for perspective.
