Location

I took this photo whilst on a whale watch trip in Kaikoura on the east coast of New Zealnd`s South Island in Jan2013.It`s the only one i have as fortunately I printed it and then lost all the photos of our South island trip when my computer fell apart and I had not backed up 200 or so photos I`d taken

Inspiration

I had tried several times to go on a whale watch trip but with one thing and another such as weather and wrong time of day I had not been able to.I also happened to spot this whale as the boat was on its way back to base without us seeing much.I was on the upper deck with 20 or so other people when I spotted the spout a mile or so away and I was the only one who saw it,so everyone was pretty happy as otherwise it would have been a wasted trip.
