Location
The shot was taken at Highlands Hammock State Park near Sebring,FloridaTime
I took the shot A little after 1 in the afternoon.Lighting
The day was bright and sunny so I ended up with a good mixture of light and shade.Equipment
I used a Nikon D-90 with a Nikkor 70-300 zoom lens for this shot.Inspiration
My daughter was down for a visit and wanted to shoot some pictures. I took her to Highlands Hammock because for have most of the nature scenery in Florida there. When we got to the cypress swamp, it reminded me of the true "Black Water" swamps you see in magazines and movies. And I loved the splotches of sun showing on the water.Editing
I only post process for color to match what I saw.In my camera bag
I carry limited equipment. Nikon D-90, a Nikkor 55-300 zoom, a Nikkor 70-300 and a Nikon SB-600 speedlite.Feedback
I really can't offer advice other than carry your camera with you. I have been places and missed some great shots because my camera was at the house.
