Love the feel the long exposure gives to the water. Looks like a very nice and tranquil spot that you expertly captured. Congratulations on the "Feature".

Location
The Photo was taken along the River Mole in Surrey at the bottom of Box HillTime
The photo was taken around 10am on the 3rd of March 2012. I had been planning for some time to visit box hill and take some shots from the spectaular viewing point that overlooks the south downs.Lighting
The day was rather overcast and a little misty so the original shots from Box hill viewing point were not possible as the views were ratehr limited due to the weather. The stepping stones was actually 3 shots taken with the camera set up ona tripod and bracketed, then merged together to form a HDR imageEquipment
The imgae was shot with a Canon 500D, using a sigma 10-18 lens shot at F22 with shutter speeds between 1 and 5 seconds at ISO 100 on a Benro Tripod.Inspiration
The stepping stones were added as part of the old estate to allow access to the weypole orchard and date back to around 1841 but were removed during WWll as part of the south downs defences and the current stones were dedicated by Clement Attlee in 1945 to replace the original ones removed. Add tot he beautiful location of box hill overlooking the vineyards and the south downs it was an ideal spot for some scenic images.Editing
The image was taken bracketed and then merged together using Photomatix Pro. it has also been coverted to a black and white versionIn my camera bag
My bag now contains a canon 60D, Canon 10-18, Canon 28-105 and canon 100-300, along with several filters, batteries, flashguns, a tripod, wireless triggers, cleaning cloth , business cards, pens, notepad portable reflector, lens hoodsFeedback
My honest view isif i have the chance i would go and retake the shot. Landscapes really suit early morning and late evening. catching the sunrise ( or early morning mist in autumn and winter ) or the sunset. ALways take a tripod and a cable release if you have one and consider your composition. For this shot i found that shooting lower down than normal helped give a better perspective and by shooting at smaller aperture it allowed me to slow down the shot thus creating the smooth water effect.
