Behind The Lens

Location

Blacken bricks was taken in Weehawken, NJ while visiting. I look for interesting textures in ordinary places.

Time

This was shot in the early afternoon. It was rather spontaneous.

Lighting

This was a bright sunny afternoon. I was captivated by the emergence of the shadows and contrast created over the worn surfaces of the brick.

Equipment

For this shot all I had was my iPhone mini.

Inspiration

I like architecture, textures, old structures, steelwork, etc. This wall had dark, blackened areas, strong contrasting texture and left me wondering about it’s history.

Editing

So for this photo I used a stock b&w filter in my phone app. I use Pro Camera as I prefer the options available vs the iPhone camera app.

In my camera bag

I don’t have a bag. I just stuff my phone in my pants pocket. It’s convenient.

Feedback

Look for that which is ordinary.
