Location
The photo was taken in the Roman Museum of Mérida (Extremadura, Spain). The museum was projected in the eighties of past century by the spanish architect and Pritzker award Rafael Moneo.Time
In may of 2021 I did a travel with two workmates around "Via de la Plata". This route is ancient roman route that cross from Andalusia to North of Spain (Asturias). This was one of our first days of travel in Merida. It was a hot spring day, more close to a summer day and It was very grateful stay inside this building, protected of the sun. Also, I usually enjoy the silence of museums.Lighting
The building had a great interior natural light. This is an usual characteristic in other buildings projected by the architect Rafael Moneo.Equipment
I did a hand shot without tripod with my Fujifilm XA5 camera.Inspiration
I have studied a degree of art history and I saw a similar photos of this building in my art books and I try to catch a similar image.Editing
Yes, I made a little bit of post-processing but I only did a few light changes to contrast a little bit more the photo and increase the clarity of image. In my camera bag
I use to carry my Fujifilm XA5 with the their kit lens. It´s a very comfortable camera to carry in the city and also when I go out to natural places. Also, I use to carry in my bag a Canon EOS 1300D with two objetives a 50mm 1.8 and a wide angle objetive 10-18mm.Feedback
Try to be guided by the geometry, the space and light of the building. Usually it´s the best way to capture the special rythm of the architecture.
