This photo was taken in a sun flower field of dying and wilting flowers on an overcast day at my local pumpkin patch.Time
This photo was taken on October 17th 2020 at 12:30pm. It was on and off raining and ultimately a chilly morning/early afternoon, I remember drinking a lot of hot apple cider to keep myself toasty. As soon as I was done this shoot the sun came out almost instantly, I recall thinking the clouds had waited around just for me to get this perfect shot!Lighting
I wanted this image to look mysterious and melancholic. The overcast grey skies this day really helped bring the lighting and ultimately my vision to life.Equipment
I shot this photo with a Canon EOS REBEL T2i with a EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 III Lens. My settings were: Aperture: f/5 ISO: 100 Shutter: 1/250 Focal Length: 39/1 No other equipment was used.Inspiration
I have always had a love for Halloween and nature, so why not combine the two into a wicked photo opportunity?Editing
I do all of my post-processing on Light-room with my self-made presets! This photo specifically I made a new preset for and I use it all the time now!In my camera bag
The first things I always pack are my Canon EOS REBEL T2i body with my EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 III & Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS STM Lenses. I then Pack my Tri-pod, and extra SD cards (never know when your'e gonna need a spare). I make sure to bring a mask, extra hair elastics, snack, water, wipes, mints and sunglasses as well!Feedback
My advice would be to communicate with your models, let them know that even tho it may seem awkward climbing into the middle of a bush the end results are amazing! Keep in mind your depth of everything in the photo (both people, your leafs, flowers ect.) you want them to almost be layered at different depths. I would also say that an overcast moody day makes the world of a difference when capturing mysterious feeling photographs.
