This photo was taken in the botanical garden at my local community center in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.Time
I took this photo around 5 PM or so after the community center had closed. I love walking through the botanical garden after everyone goes home because a lot of the pollinators and birds become more active.Lighting

This was shot on a Canon EOS 70D with a 50 mm lens. I had to crouch way down, almost laying down on the ground, to get level with the coneflower. I wanted the viewer to really feel like they are getting a bee's eye view.Inspiration
I am a huge advocate for using native wildflowers in home landscaping to support our wildlife. Coneflowers are some of our most popular natives to put in pollinator gardens/landscaping because they are utilized by dozens of pollinators and birds. I really wanted to draw the viewer in and show them our native species can be just as beautiful as the non-native species we so often see in home landscaping that are not providing any ecosystem services.Editing
No. This photo was not edited or changed in any way.In my camera bag
I always bring extra batteries! There is nothing worse than trying to take a cool shot when your camera suddenly dies.Feedback
