Location
This image was taken in rural Wisconsin not too far fro Lake Geneva. Driving by I saw the old car and returned to it next morning on the sunrise. It was amazingly beautiful. I am a hobbyist photographer mostly interested in landscape, travel and underwater photography.Time
This image was taken at 5:00 in the morning, about 30 minutes after the sunrise. I planed this shot in advance by scouting the location a night before.Lighting
After I came to the location, I realized that the sky was not really interesting and despite great light at the golden hour it would be difficult to create an interesting image, unless I can catch the starburst of the sun through the car's windshield. I had to go all way down on the ground to get this image.Equipment
This image was shot with Canon EOS 5D Mark IV, EF 16-35 at 20mm, ISO 400, f18, 1/250secInspiration
I wanted to combine the image of old and rusty abandoned car with the image of the start of the day at the sunrise. The idea was interesting philosophically and I wanted to relay it through my image.Editing
I did processing in the PS Lightroom classic by running down the highlights and opening the shadows. Minimal correction of white balance was done as well with some sharpening of the main subjectIn my camera bag
I shoot landscapes with Canon EOS 5D Mark IV. I have a set of glass including EF 16-35 for wide angle, EF 24-70 for most travel photography, EF 100 macro prime for micro and closeups as well as occasional portrait and Irix 14 prime for night time photography. I use tripod almost always as well as remote shutter release. Most of the times I use natural light.Feedback
The best way to capture the sunburst is to use the lens with 9 blades in the diaphragm at f16 or smaller and partially block the sun with the subject. To portray the car in that way low point of view need to be used as close to the ground as possible
