Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken from the Mount of Olives facing the Old City of Jerusalem.

Time

She was supposed to bring her camera, but since we were late for the sunset we almost canceled this walk. However I wanted to take some pictures because the lights right after sunset are amazing.

Lighting

I am an amateur yet passionate photographer. I was wondering how to get the best light and bokeh from the city and at the same time having her with enough exposure. Her natural beauty and joy made everything easier.

Equipment

I used my Nikon D800 with a Nikkon Lens 80-200mm f2.8 D

Inspiration

She inspired me. She always does...

Editing

The WB was kept with warmer colors, so I had to reduce them in order to get the blue and violet from the city.

In my camera bag

Usually I don't carry a bag, even if I am using a heavy lens like this one. Also I do not like the long strip for the neck. I use a short one for the wrist.

Feedback

For those coming to Jerusalem the best advice that comes to my mind is to slow down when you walk, there are many good places, buildings and people in here. As for the color and light, sunset is a good time to capture lanscapes and portraits.
