Location
This photo was taken at Fort Point below the south side of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.Time
I arrived early, as I wanted to get set up for what I thought was going to be a blue hour shot. One that I've taken before but wanted to see if I could improve on. Then the sun started to set and the clouds lit up and I managed to capture this image.Lighting
I've always enjoyed the way the light reflects off this beautiful old rusty chain.Equipment
The camera was a Nikon D7200 with my favorite lens, the Tokina 11-16mm wide-angle mounted to my Vanguard tripod.Inspiration
It's just one of the most iconic and photographed bridges in the world. Plus it's 20 mins from my house.Editing
I processed a single RAW file in Lightroom. In my camera bag
I don't have a great amount of gear, so pretty much everything that is in the bag is what I own. D7200, Tokina 11-16mm f2.8, Sigma 17-50mm f2.8, Nikon 55-300mm, and Tokina macro 100mm f2.8. I also pack a few different filters of varying degrees, intervalometer, cleaning supplies and spare batteries are a must.Feedback
Yeah, I've seen a lot of people at this location and most seem to favor standing tall and a lot closer to the bridge but If you wander around down there you'll find a ton of great compositions. I like to get down low as often as possible, especially with the wide-angle, look for leading lines that draw your eye, and as with most good landscapes try and get something interesting in the foreground.
